minimood extra s forthcoming release is a vinyl only, red 12- affair that features two novel reworks of dub techno wizard david hausdorf s legendary salo release space walk . germany s david hausdorf has been turning out expertly crafted deep techno since the late nineties. he did so on labels like synaptic waves as well as styrax leaves, and in 2002 served up his classic space warehouse found! last copies ever.. walk on the epic berlin based imprint salo. first up is the 2015 version. it is a ten minute piece of heady, hypnotic techno with soft rubber drums, gently propulsive percussion and icy high-hats that add a real sense of scale and depth to the track. with slick boom- bap bite in the claps and hits, this is the sort of expertly reduced track that will lock dance floors in for hours. then comes the 2015 reshape, which again makes full use of its 10 minute length. there is a little more edgy reverb in this one, the drums are more upright and the pads are a little more rippling and rolling. it s a liquid groove as a result, and one that is near faultless for the way it rolls on and on without any friction.

erell ranson has got some serious credentials behind him. the french producer has been releasing music for over ten years, landing on a range of underground labels that more recently include barba records, subwax excursions and nightflight. on this release for uk label distant worlds, he matches the vibe of label mates john shima, derek carr et al with a gorgeous set of emotive, yearning techno reflections that call to mind the early uk scene pioneered by b12, baby ford and others. this is thoughtful, heartfelt stuff that works both as distinctive dancefloor material as well as intimate home listening fare.
1per customer , repress from the debut album from slovenian act videosex. while little known outside of the former yugoslavia, videosex’s self-titled debut album from 1984 sold in significant numbers, making superstars of the young slovenian musicians responsible for making it. the set not only helped turn yugoslavian teenagers on to the possibilities of western-style electronic pop, but also inspired them via satirical, often explicit lyrics. their debut performance at the novi rock festival in ljubljana lead to an immediate contract offer from slovenia’s biggest record label. it wasn’t long before the band were holed up in studio top ten in ljiublana recording what would become their debut album. they effectively moved in to the studio for days and weeks on end, clocking up well over 200 hours of recording time in which they mixed experimentation with a desire to polish each song to perfection. the result is their first album which includes nine songs touching a variety of sexually charged subjects including erotica, lesbianism, voyeurism and sadism.
